Just finished site update:
* Improved layout a bit: now no need to open login page.
* Moved footer menu on the top for cleaner look
* Show total folder files/size info
* Improved "New Folder" interface
* TrafficShare feature implemented!

New Shareator engine!

We've just moved to new Shareator improved engine!
Significant improvements are:
* New upload mechanism. It should improve your upload speeds and decrease our server load.
* URL upload queue. Now you can enter multiple URLs to upload and close your browser. Files will be uploaded automatically as soon as possible.
* Image upload mod. Now when uploading images we will automatically create thumbnail and special forum code. And when clicking download link full image will be shown instantly.
* MP3 upload mod. Now getting mp3 tags and bitrate/frequency info automatically after upload. Showing these fields on download page. Plus added tiny(3 kb only!) flash audio player there, so you can play song with streaming without downloading full file!
* Improved bandwidth counter. Your download bandwidth will be tracked correctly now. We will count only bytes you've really downloaded.
Also there are lots of site layout improvements.
And we're planning to add video snapshots, web video player next week. ;)
Desktop Uploader

We are proud to present first version of our Shareator Desktop Uploader. It's probably bit buggy yet and lack of features but it upload files faster and is really usefull for uploading huge files cause upload won't hang with it.
Please give it a chance and try to use it. Post all bugs and feature requests in comments so we will improve it next few weeks.
Sign In with your login/pass in uploader to increase your filesize limit.
Update Oct 2: fixed upload of read-only files, implemented upload stop / resume, showing percents completed / upload speed.
Download installer: ShareatorUploader.exe
Update Oct 5: here's single exe version without installer. Just enter shareator.com in settings on the first run: XFSUploader.exe
Network upgrade

Sorry about a few hours downtime - we were improving our network connection speeds.
Anonymous users speed raised to 500kbps, Registered users to 1000kbps, Premiums are still unlimited ;) And we're going to improve speeds even much soon.
Also we're planning big sweet engine upgrade soon, so stay tuned to see new features next few days.
New download mechanism

We're now using new download mechanism that was forged specially for Shareator in our labs.
Some users didn't care about our server and were using 10+ multiple connections for downloads. This was causing some site downtime.
Now with smart download engine Anonymous users will be able to use only 1 connection with 400kbps speed, Registered users will be able to use 2 connections 800kbps each, Premium users will be able to use 5 simultaneous connections with no speed limits.
We believe this will save lots of server resources and give you better download speeds.
Moved to new server
August 11th, 2008
Today, on monday 11 Aug server was moved to new server. Now we have 5 times more disk space and unmeterd internet uplink.
